Let's Talk Turnkey Homes

The fact is, most new home builders have quite different interpretations of a traditional “turnkey home.” To avoid confusion, at McBrimar, we like to call it The Full Service. Here’s a little insight as to why.

Over our 10+ years of building homes and communities, we’ve learned that our customers appreciate our ability to manage every little detail of the build. We do all the hard bits, so you get to enjoy the best bits. It’s our passion to ensure your experience with our team is as stress-free as it can be. We know building a home can be complex, so it’s our job to simplify it for you.

To put it simply, the McBrimar Full Service means we provide a finished home ready for you to enjoy. All you have to do is start packing.

SO HOW DOES IT WORK?

The McBrimar Full Service is designed so that you can sit back and watch us work our magic. It’s flexible, so whether you’re searching for a Home & Land Package or a bespoke Design & Build on our land or yours, we provide The Full Service for every option.

Many New Zealanders love the idea of a new build, but the concept of architects, consents, earthworks, and landscaping can be a bit overwhelming. Luckily, over the years we’ve developed relationships with the best suppliers and subcontractors, which means we can take care of the scary bits and you get to enjoy the fun parts.

Plus, we’ve refined our processes to ensure you’re involved in all the big and important decisions at every step. Your dreams begin when we kick off the 7 Step Design Phase of the Client Journey, and your home truly comes to life when we grab you a hard hat to signal the start of the Build Phase. When the time is right, we'll engage architects and engineers to get your plans consented with the local council. During the Design Phase, you’ll get to meet with our experienced interior designer and our trusted suppliers to ensure your product choices and interiors are just right. Then in the Build Phase, you'll meet with the tilers, electricians, and plumbers to ensure everything is up to your standards, and ours, of course. We’ll be sure to give you a bell whenever anything exciting is happening onsite, so you don’t miss out. It’s our goal to ensure you always know where the ship is sailing to.

SO WHAT’S INCLUDED?

Here at McBrimar, we provide Fixed Price Contracts. Your Fixed Price Contract includes the following:

  • Architect fees

  • Council consent fees

  • Earthworks

  • Internal fittings and fixtures

  • Floor coverings

  • Heating, cooling and ventilation (if desired)

  • Dishwasher, oven, cooktop, and rangehood

  • As much landscaping as you’d like, including driveway and footpaths, fencing, retaining walls, patios, decks, raised gardens, lawn, clothesline, and letterbox.

Note: We’re happy to help you choose the curtains, however these are not typically included in The Full Service.

SOUNDS GREAT, IS LENDING HARD?

The quick answer is, “it doesn’t have to be” because when you choose to build with McBrimar, you choose a partner that your bank knows they can trust.

We know that lending on construction loans can be more difficult than when buying an existing home, which is why we’ve spent countless hours refining our process based on what we know banks are looking out for when reviewing lending applications: We provide:

· The confidence that your home will be completed to an unwaveringly high standard, and importantly, on time

· The McBrimar Full Service comes with all items required to finish your build. No sneaky surprises!

· Optional 10 Year Master Build Guarantee, ensuring guaranteed completion of your home and a 10 year structural guarantee.

· One very clear Fixed Price Contract which means you know the completed price of your project form the outset. Many build agreements have multiple exclusions and would allow the builder to make additional charges for price increases in materials, which ultimately gives banks the chills.

Finally, we know everyone has different financial requirements, so if you want to stay in your existing home until your new home is complete, or if you’re thrown a curve ball, we work really closely with a number of finance providers who may be able to help with trickier arrangements. You just have to ask. We make your dreams our priority.
